If you start working on your dreams and outline the habits that you need to succeed in the project you start working on I can assure you that there will be days when you will feel like quitting. It does not matter if it is your business on that you are working on or your exercise schedule in the gym or your running routine or the programming session for your new app. It’s about the state of mind where you step up and show up every day, day in and day out no matter what the weather it is or how you feel like in that particular moment. This state of mind will determine your success level in the years to come because it makes all the difference between a wantrepreneur and a professional.
I think the most important part about work in our lifetime is our mindset and how we understand that the workplace has changed also because of the COVID 19 Global Pandemic but also because our environment is changing fast. Work will be a state of mind and we as individuals will need to perform better and more organized in small groups or individually. This shift will shape us so that we can master our mindset, our emotions and our feelings, adapting to new work conditions. All these factors determine our state of being in that moment and how we can perform our tasks. In the endless quest for the best productivity hack, app or tool we will strive for mastery. This quest is getting us closer to reduce our effort and resources that we put in our work so that we can increase our effectiveness.
Every habit produces multiple outcomes across time. Unfortunately, these outcomes are often misaligned. With our bad habits, the immediate outcome usually feels good, but the ultimate outcome feels bad. With good habits, it is the reverse: the immediate outcome is unenjoyable, but the ultimate outcome feels good. The French economist Frédéric Bastiat explained the problem clearly when he wrote, “It almost always happens that when the immediate consequence is favourable, the later consequences are disastrous, and vice versa. . . . Often, the sweeter the first fruit of a habit, the more bitter are its later fruits.”
I think that it is best to structure our lifestyle and everyday activities in a way such that we have a plan and a structure in everything we do otherwise we will need to much energy and willpower to overcome all of life’s stimulus.
Life is short, you need to move quickly so that you can do work that matters. Launch a product online, write a book, ask questions, take your chance.
The good decisions and choices you take in life will get by unnoticed and unrewarded for a long period of time. The best choices tend to provide exponential returns but they will be delayed. Thing’s don’t really take off until years later. So keep working on your dreams day by day, week by week, month by month, year by year. Keep Going the extra mile on your silent path and be patient. Find always the time for what you were dreaming as a kid and do the work, put in the reps, run a little longer.
I was writing this article only with one goal in mind, to restart my writing and publishing schedule that I stopped about 7 weeks ago, on the 18’th of March 2020. My number one goal for this year of 2020 is and was on new years eve to publish one article every Wednesday. It does not matter the topic or the theme for the article, what was important for me was the idea of sticking to a habit and doing it on a weekly basis so that my identity will change over time with this habit. After successfully publishing about 11 articles and taking on a new project for marketing, because of my lack for my daily schedule I managed to skip 7 weeks of articles that I should have published. So my advice to you is to make a plan for what you want most to achieve in life and then to schedule it on a daily basis. What is the most important task for the day? Focus on that task and only on that task alone till you have finished it and then get on with the others. Also, you need to identify who is the person that is living already the life you dream about and what is that person doing every day. Find the most important habits and then focus on habit at a time.
Focus equals freedom! Why? Because focus is equal to discipline, and for you to become the person you want to be you need to be focused on your goal and work on it every day. Make a plan and stick to it. !
Professionals stick to the schedule, wantrepreneurs let life get in the way! Professionals know what is important to them and work toward its purpose and passion, wantrepreneurs get pulled off the course by life urgencies.
You should have a clear vision of how your day will look like first in the morning when you wake up. Win the moment in front of you now. This is how you win the day.
Your willingness to do the hard work first is a competitive advantage. This will set you apart from the rest in your field.
Find the willpower, find the mood, get in the state of mind so that you can do your best work every day for a short period of time ( every day ) when it works best for you ( for me it is around 5:00 am in the morning ). If it is truly important for you you will find the time for your dream
Else if ( ‘ you don’t make time for your dream ‘ ) ;
Writeline ( ‘ someone else will make you work for their dream ! ‘ )
End
